Barista course No.1 completed
Different city, still gastro
The second part of the block of gastronomic courses moved from the picturesque surroundings of the Hotel STARÝ MLÝN in Jeseník to the modern NORDBEANS café in the Liberec DOK.
This time, students from Poland arrived on Monday After a quick check-in at the local dormitory, we quickly moved on to the start of the course, which was guided by experienced barista Lukáš Bros. During the initial and necessary theoretical training, he kept the students on their toes with a supply of quality coffee, which they would learn to prepare over the following days. The afternoon was used for a short walk around the city followed by dinner and a well-deserved rest.
The first three days were spent together in the café’s training room, where students gradually learned not only how to drink coffee, but also how to prepare it.
Káva / Kawa / Coffee / кава / 咖啡
On Thursday we moved to the Liberec Regional Gallery, where we improved our English skills right next to the café. Now that we know how to satisfy and serve even the most demanding coffee fans, we have no choice but to get to work. The students took turns in the café where they prepared coffee for customers under the guidance of our tutor. We ended a challenging but mostly successful day with a few hours of educational walking around the sights and cultural sites of Liberec.
On Friday morning, in the common room, we confirmed our language skills, handed out diplomas and said goodbye.
