The last barista course is over
Like the previous course, our last gastronomy course was held in the Liberecké DOK, which is run by the NORDBEANS selection coffee roaster.
The course aimed at baristas took place in a similar spirit to the previous one. On Monday morning, we welcomed the Ukrainian students of the Polish secondary school to the dormitory in Liberec, put things in the rooms and hurriedly left by public transport for the barista course.
The students spent Monday to Wednesday in the cafeteria’s teaching room and worked on theory and practice until the afternoon hours. We spent Thursday in the Liberec Regional Gallery, where in the morning there was a practical English lesson for baristas, and in the afternoon the students gradually tested their newly acquired skills in a local cafe. On Friday, we consolidated our English, gave the students well-deserved certificates for successfully completing the course, and said goodbye.
Again, but a little differently
As in the previous course, the hours of the late afternoon and early evening were reserved for a voluntary leisure program, which compared to the previous course, we managed to coordinate better with the educational program.
Thanks to the fact that we had more accurate ideas about the abilities and possibilities of the students, we managed to better schedule the individual parts of the courses. And so we could better plan the leisure program for each day.
When choosing the individual activities, we were based on feedback from participants of the previous course as well as the needs of new participants.
In addition to walking around the monuments of Liberec, buying souvenirs and replenishing supplies, we also visited the Liberec Zoo or went to the Pizzeria.
Saying goodbye to the students on Friday was all the more difficult this time because it was the last goodbye.
We thank all students for their participation.
